ICE-BREAKER Designer’s jacket
Design Week 2024
I was invited to participate in the group show presented during Design Week 2024 at the prestigious Lorenzelli Arte Gallery. The exhibition revolved around the theme to reimagine the designer's jacket.
My contribution, Ice Breaker, is a reflection on climate change and the melting ice caps. The jacket’s pattern features applied iceflake motifs, symbolizing the fragility and beauty of frozen landscapes. Its silhouette, draws inspiration from traditional Inuit anoraks, blending cultural heritage with contemporary design.
The name Ice Breaker carries a dual meaning. It refers not only to the literal breaking of ice but also to the figurative act of starting conversations about challenging topics. By wearing this piece, the designer assumes the role of an engaged, opinionated individual—using design as a tool to create dialogue around urgent global issues. This jacket serves as an approachable yet powerful entry point for discussing one of the most critical topics of our time: climate change.
